Good morning! What a wonderful Saturday morning! You know, if you start your day saying something positive like, ‘Today is going to be a great day!‘, you find that your day will go on smoothly.

This morning, hubby and I went to the nearby food court for breakfast. Remember the Kampar Fried Noodles that I mentioned last week? Ya, that food court. Of course, I didn’t order the Char Kuey Teow today.

Honestly, no offense, okay? If you are one who has eaten so many good dishes and yummy small eats, especially Char Kuey Teow, in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, this Kampar Char Kway Teow won’t leave you much impression.

Speaking of today’s breakfast, hubby and I had ‘Kopi O’ aka coffee with sugar only and Ham Jim Peng.

It’d been a long time since I last ate Ham Jim Peng. The reason I ordered the Ham Jim Peng was because of a man sitting at the next table. He dipped the Ham Jim Peng into his ‘Kopi O’ and judging from his facial expression, he seemed to enjoy it.

So from the initial intention of eating Wan Tan Mee aka Wan Tan noodles, I asked hubby to order some Ham Jim Peng.

Before heading home, hubby bought a few more Ham Jim Peng and fried glutinous rice doughnuts for lunch.

See the photo? The ones with sweet and slightly sticky glutinous rice wrapped by the slightly salty dough are fried glutinous rice doughnuts. Yummy Chinese food!

Hubby had half bowl of rice and Lap Cheong aka Chinese sausage for his breakfast. So heavy? What to do? He’s packed with 5 classes every Wednesday!

At 11 a.m., I will pack his lunch box with brown rice, Lap Cheong, Heong Mak Tam vegetable and steamed egg dish. Then, I will take it to his school which is only a minute’s walk away. So convenient, right?

The steamed egg dish that I prepared was added with tomatoes, so it’s Steamed Eggs with Tomatoes.

Ingredients:

3 eggs
2 tomatoes, cut into slices
Salt
Soy Sauce

Instructions:

1. Beat the eggs, salt and soy sauce in a metal bowl.

2. Place the bowl in the steamer and steam for 15 – 20 minutes.

Did I put the wrong photo? It doesn’t look like Steamed Eggs with Tomatoes at all. You see, I couldn’t find any photo of Steamed Eggs with Tomatoes, only Stir-Fried Eggs and Tomatoes. So, bear with it. :-)

Today and tomorrow I am not going to the wet market. My online assignments will come in this afternoon or tomorrow morning, so I want to focus on completing the assignments fast.

For tonight and tomorrow’s dinners, I am going to use up whatever ingredients and cooking materials I have in the kitchen. Once they are gone, I will replenish my pantry with fresh cooking materials.
